About the Author
Jim Taylor, PhD, is a highly sought-after speaker and author in sport psychology. Dr. Taylor has 20 years of applied sport psychology experience in academic settings and in private consulting practice. The author of eight books and numerous publications in refereed journals, Dr. Taylor is a former world-ranked alpine ski racer, certified tennis coach, second-degree black belt in karate, marathon runner, and Ironman triathlete. He is an elected fellow and certified consultant for the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology, and he has consulted extensively with world-class and professional athletes.
Gregory S. Wilson, PED, is an associate professor and chair of the department of human kinetics and sport studies at the University of Evansville in Indiana. He has coauthored six chapters for a variety of edited textbooks and has published numerous papers dealing with such topics as overtraining and staleness and the effects of precompetition anxiety on sport performance. A former track coach, he has coached an NCAA hurdles champion and a member of the U.S. Olympic and Pan American teams. Dr. Wilson is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Psychological Association.
